Sofa fun!

I washed the slip covers on our sofa today. I was babysitting and both kids enjoyed playing in the sofa sans cushions and also in the cushions. I would hear giggle giggle giggle, thunk, pause, giggle giggle giggle, thunk. the thunk was one of their heads hitting the floor as they rolled off of the cushion pile. It was pretty cute.

Going to the park and the zoo!

We've been going to the park and the zoo lately. Here are some of our top experiences~
Here are the three of us

We pulled out "the monkey shirt" and took Clark to the zoo. His favorite zoo things are: rocks, rails, posts, and fences. He also enjoyed the small mammal house.

This is from a different zoo trip, last week. We saw two elephants pee and one poop! Everyone loved it! The zoo is building a new Elephant zone, its going to be 5x the size of the one the elephants have now. Its almost finished being built and its going to be more fun for them!
The zoo has a farm with farm animals. Here is a pig, we also saw cows, bunnies and Clark and I both touched a goat. I know that many people go to petting zoos, but not me. One of the very first assignments you get in Public Health School is to write a press release for a local petting zoo who has an outbreak of e. Coli. If the animals are different heights and in the same enclosure, you can almost bet that the tall ones are pooping on the small ones. Then your kid touches the little cute animal and gets poopy gross on them. The goat we touched was only with other goats and we washed immediately.
Tiger! I know its fake, but whatev... The zoo has a nice big cat exhibit (I think). You can usually see one or more of the big cats doing something cool. This day we saw one male lion and two female lions. At one point, one girl lion went to sniff the boy lion, and he was unhappy about it and roared at her. It was awesome! Then they fought a little bit and then spread out and lay down again. Clark liked that!

We checked out the free range Orangutans too!

We've also been going to the local parks almost daily. This is Wheaton Regional Park. They have a train, carousel, a green house and outdoor botanical gardens. They also have many different playground equipment stations, appropriate for different levels of development. There's a nice area for little kids like Clark. He is really interested in dogs lately. He found this one, and wanted to play tug-of-war with its stick. I took the picture and made him stop so he didn't get growled at. He liked the dog a lot.
Here's Clark getting ready for football season or boot camp. Tires!

More Easter - mostly food. =)

Our neighbor gave us this footstool. It opens on top and has two drawers. Clark LOVES it. He takes it apart and walks around the house with the drawers. I like it because its a good place to store little toys - like the maraca shown below.

Here John Paul demonstrates his superior strength to Clark.
Here is some delicious Macaroni and Cheese that Ashley made.
Here are delicious green beans and asparagus (underneath) cooked in yummy bacon. Lishu made these. She googled, "Easter foods" because she's Chinese and has never celebrated Easter before and didn't know what to bring. Now we all know that green beans and asparagus are traditional Easter foods!
Here is the amazingly delicious lamb that Tom made. yum yum yum yum yum yum. Even Clark liked it and he's super picky!

This is the lamb cake we made this year (covered in saran wrap). This year, we actually made a Rice Krispy Lamb, frosted it with white and did its face with cookie decorations.

Here's the lamb cake and some Egg cookies. Thanks to Andrea GG for passing on the cookie cutters. I decorated each cookie with the names of our Easter Feasters!

Ashely made a carrot cake from scratch and decorated it with a sign of capital punishment (and salvation).

It was a wonderful happy Easter time!!!

Happy Easter!!!!!!!!!!

Happy Easter everyone! Hosanna! Alleluia! He is risen indeed!

Clark and Tom in pretty clothes in front of our daffodil garden.

Practicing his mad walking skills.

We invited Ashley and John Paul

Josh, Scott and Lishu over for Easter Dinner.
We had lamb, mac and cheese, green beans, asparagus, and lots of desserts!
We sat on the back porch and had a beautiful day.
This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad!

Its a Beautiful Spring Time!!!!!

We went down to the Cherry Blossom Festival and these are the photos we took. It was very very beautiful, and even more crowded!

Dada and Clark

Clark toddles around with a bit of jelly on his chin!

The precious.

Waiting for the metro.

A moment of introspection. He's looking at the Washington Monument. Maybe he's thinking about his future as the first president named, "Clark" and what type of monument they would build for such a man...

Us!

Tom teaches Clark about flowers.

Us & Washington Monument & Cherry Tree.

All tired out...

Dinner

This is dinner from Wednesday. Chicken stuffed with rainbow chard and pepper jack cheese wrapped in bacon. Served with boiled potatos and carrots (we LOVE cooked carrots!) With buttered toast. I cut slits in the chicken to stuff them. It was sooooOoo easy, cheap and quick. I recommend using a pan with a lip when cooking in the oven or roasting pan where the bacon grease can drip through and be collected. Genuis me didn't think of that. Oh well. It was still delicious even if I did set off the smoke alarm!
